Hip Strain Likely To Keep Fred VanVleet Out Entire Series Against 76ers

Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet has been ruled out for Monday's Game 5 with a hip strain that knocked him out of Game 4.

VanVleet will likely be out the remainder of the series, regardless of whether the Raptors rally to force a Game 6 and 7, according to the Pro Basketball Docs.

The 27-year-old also has a chronic right knee issue, which will limit his mobility even if he tries to play through the hip strain.

He missed 14 of his last 38 regular season games with the knee ailment and his workload had to be managed during the season.

Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes is back for the Raptors and will likely play a bigger role for Toronto. His ankle is still not 100%, but he can play through the pain as long as he doesn't reaggravate the injury.

The 76ers are 8-point favorites in Game 5 and the over/under is 211, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
