Toronto Blue Jays' starter Hyun-Jin Ryu was pulled from his first start of the season Sunday after taking a hard hit ball off the back of his left leg.
Ryu is reportedly dealing with a hamstring contusion after the injury in the top of the 4th inning, but manager Charlie Montoyo said the lefty should be fine.
The 35-year-old initially tried to wave off medical staff after he was hit by the comebacker, but was pulled after a consultation on the mound.
His line when he exited was 3.1 innings, 5 hits, 2 walks and 4 strikeout. He ended up with 6 earned runs on his ledger as well.
Ryu told reporters after the game that he doesn't think the injury will pose a problem.
His next start comes at home Friday against the Oakland Athletics.
The Blue Jays lost Sunday to drop to 2-1, but slugged 7 home runs and scored 20 runs in the three opening weekend games.
