Update: Joe Burrow's wrist injury could lead to a 49th quarterback starting in Week 11. More details on Burrow's ailment here.
Through 10 weeks of NFL football, 48 different quarterbacks have started a game.
Key injuries have forced some back-ups into action, while others have been due to coaching decision.
The 2022 season saw a record 64 different starting quarterbacks due to injury/illness or coaching decision.
Here are the key injuries that have knocked out starting quarterbacks for at least 3 games this season:
Cousins’ Achilles tear has already led to Jaren Hall starting and Josh Dobbs will take over as the starting quarterback. Nick Mullens is also returning soon from the back injury that landed on IR.
Zach Wilson has infamously led the Jets to a 4-4 record. Tim Boyle is the backup.
While out recovering from his Dec. 12, 2022 right knee ACL, the Cardinals have started Josh Dobbs and Clayton Tune. Now Murray is back.
Gardner Minshew has taken over the starting job and been effective with the rookie out for the season. Richardson suffered his shoulder injury in Week 5 but also missed Week 3 with a concussion.
In 6 games, Minshew has gone 3-3 with a 8/6 touchdowns to interceptions split. He has also averaged 172.1 passing yards and 4.4 rushing yards per game.
With Tyrod Taylor now on IR, the Giants are down to Tommy Devito and Matt Barkley as the quarterback options
Undrafted rookie Tyson Bangent went 2-2 replacing Fields from Weeks 7-10. With Fields back in Week 11, Bagent returns to his backup QB role.
Bagent had 859 yards with 3 touchdowns and 6 interceptions in 5 games (4 started).
