In-Depth Joe Burrow Knee Injury Analysis

The pendulum has swung way too far. Our in game video indicated more than an ACL, and we knew all along that Burrow injured his ACL and MCL at least. However now with reports of the multi ligament injury Now, the pendulum has swung where some, including Monday Night Football indicated a return in 2022. We still firmly believe that Joe Burrow can play week one in 2021. Although his knee will continue to get stronger throughout the season. We do not anticipate a PUP designation to start the year. Many have compared this to Wentz's multi ligament injury where he didn't play until week three, but  this injury was entirely different. as it involved the ACL and LCL and two ligaments that needed surgery.  Even with the MCL tear and possible mild PCL involvement, I do not believe he will have MCL or PCL surgery, only ACL surgery. This puts him on a possible timeline to return. Also note other comparisons. Tom Brady had an ACL and LCL injury and return to play week one the following year. Yes, his tear was week one, but he had an infection post op, yet still was ready the next year. Philip Rivers tore his ACL in the AFC Championship game and then had surgery, right before the Super Bowl. He then returned and put up his best statistical season at the time. He had an ACL tear with an MCL component. Finally in 2006, Carson Palmer had an ACL and MCL tear on the second play of the wild card game, and even had rumors of a patella issue, yet he returned week one, played 16 games at a quarterback rating of 93.3, which was top six in the league. We need to wait until after surgery and start to observe Burrow's rehab but we remain optimistic that week one remains firmly in the picture for a possible return to play. Although it is certain that his knee will get stronger as the season goes on. We continue with optimism for Joe Burrow's future as the Bengals signal caller and star.
