The Patriots left tackle is coming off an achilles rupture and the current injury has nothing to do with that. The achilles seems to be holding up but on yesterday's goal line touchdown for Sony Michel as he was down blocking he got caught in a pile. Reports have said he is dealing with turf toe which is when the big toe is planted and forced up into dorsiflexion. The view was obscured on replay but this seems not to be the worst variety. Wynn did come out for the first snap of the next series before exiting. I doubt surgery will be needed but it could be a few weeks before he plays. The Patriots could be down both their left tackle and right tackle with Marcus Cannon down with a left shoulder injury. Sometimes the solution is to swing the protection or stack a tight end to help the tackle but one can't swing the protection both ways. The Patriots are already short on tight ends with Matt LaCosse just returning.. Don't be surprised if Belichick gets creative here in the short term.
