Jalen Hurts Dealing With Sore Ankle, Will Have Limited Mobility If He Plays Against Jets

Jalen Hurts, the Eagles second-year quarterback, injured his left ankle in Sunday's loss to the Giants and may miss this week's matchup against the Jets. By video, Hurts was stepped on by running back Boston Scott early in the fourth quarter and appeared to suffer a mild sprain. The 23-year-old had his ankle taped after the offensive series concluded and finished the game. We believe Hurts' injury is minor, but it could cause him to miss practice time and have limited mobility against the Jets.

Mobility is key to Hurts' effectiveness and Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni will have to decide whether Hurts looks ready enough to be effective. Sirianni told reporters Monday that he is hopeful Hurts can play, but would update his status Wednesday when the team practices. Gardnew Minshew would step in if Hurts isn't up to Sirianni's standards.
