Conner left the Monday night game early in the second quarter and did not return. He was seen getting his ankle taped on the sidelines early in the first half. ESPN reported a mild ankle sprain and this makes sense, as we could not see any video where he actually got hurt so did not feel it to be significant. We think he could have continued to play in the game but Benny Snell Jr. was doing so well it allowed him to rest. If a player has an injury at the beginning of the second quarter, they are required by rule to report it to the broadcasting crew. They are required to give that injury information if they have it and the Steelers did not indicate ankle and questionable until the fourth quarter. We don't think Conner will miss much time but certainly he has lost some touches to Snell Jr.
