The Steelers running back admitted to a bruise/contusion but nothing structurally wrong. That would fit with our earlier video analysis but this doesn't necessarily mean it is a simple pain tolerance issue and that he could play next week. If the bruise is at the bone from the hyperextension with the bone underneath the articular cartilage "bruised", this is actually a form of microscopic fracture which could mean up to three to four weeks of rest for the running back. Not all contusions or bruises are benign. Some can get worse and even turn into a "Hunter Henry" type "fracture" if care is not taken. His words do not necessarily comfort me yet.
