With the departure of Chase Edmonds to the Dolphins, Conner is now cemented as the three-down back in Arizona.
It will be tough for him to match his 18-touchdown output from last season, but the volume is there for him to be a clear RB1. Last season, he averaged 15.9 fantasy points per game in 0.5-point PPR scoring, his highest output since 2018 with the Steelers.
That season, he played in two fewer games, but over 200 more rushing yards and over 120 more receiving yards than in 2021.
He enters the season with a SIC score of 93, meaning he has minimal health concerns for the upcoming season.
He missed two games with a heel injury last season and missed at least three games in 2018, 2019 and 2020. However, none of those issues are likely to carry over into this season.

The Rams’ lead back returned faster than anyone anticipated last season, but averaged a dismal 2.6 yards per carry in the playoffs. Now, he is entering his second season since the Achilles tendon rupture and should be near full strength.
He has a season SIC score of 88, but his weekly SIC score will likely rise as he fully regains his explosiveness.
The third-year back had a soft-tissue injury early in training camp, but he should be ready to go by Week 1.
Akers played in 13 games in 2020 and averaged 7.4 fantasy points in half-point PPR scoring. He had 625 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns, plus 11 catches for 123 yards and a touchdown.
Darrell Henderson is still in the mix and may poach some touchdowns, but the Rams ranked 25th in rushing yards last season with a two-headed approach of Henderson and Sony Michel.
Los Angeles will still heavily favor the pass, but Akers should have plenty of opportunities this season.
