James Robinson Suffers Torn Achilles Tendon, Done For Season

James Robinson, the Jaguars starting running back, is out for the rest of the season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon in the first quarter of the game against the Jets.

By video, Robinson went down in the backfield without contact and Dr. David Chao, ProFootballDoc said Robinson suffered a torn Achilles tendon in his left heel.

The 23-year-old was carted to the locker room and quickly ruled out with an Achilles injury.

Expect an MRI to confirm the Achilles tendon tear, thus ending Robinson's season.

The second-year running back finishes the season with 757 rushing yards and 8 rushing touchdowns, plus 31 catches for 222 yards.

Dare Ogunbowale will take over the running back duties for the Jaguars. Backup running back Carlos Hyde is on IR for the rest of the season as he recovers from a concussion.

Update

After the game, Jaguars head coach Darrell Bevell confirmed Robinson suffered a torn Achilles and is done for the season. With the injury happening so late in the season, he faces an uphill battle to be ready for training camp and likely won't be effective until the second half of the year.
