The Rams QB was listed as limited in practice today, and was seen throwing balls today in the park open to media. Despite the coy answers from head coach Sean McVay, we expect Goff to start and play despite recent thumb surgery and remember in Week 16 he finished the contest even after the fracture dislocation of the thumb. Without a splint or tape, Goff threw the ball effectively, given that it is a more distal dislocation, it leads to more stability and makes it easier to return. Given the magnitude of the game, we fully expect Goff to be the starter. The bigger question is, what rust he might have from a little time off, and timing issues with Cooper Kupp as the stud wideout has missed some time due to a positive COVID-19 test.
