Jared Goff Misses Third Straight Practice With Oblique Strain, Tim Boyle Likely To Start Against Browns

Lions quarterback Jared Goff missed practice Friday with a right oblique strain and Tim Boyle is likely to start against the Browns. Goff played through the issue last week against the Steelers, but was not effective. He has missed practice all week now and Boyle received the first-team reps. Boyle has been on IR all season after undergoing thumb surgery Aug. 30, but is primed to be activated for the game. The 27-year-old has thrown four career passes, while third-stringer David Blough started five games for the Lions in 2019.
