Grizzlies' 2-way star and potential Defensive Player of The Year Jaren Jackson Jr. is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Spurs with right thigh soreness.
Jackson Jr., who is currently +1400 to win DPOY according to FanDuel Sportsbook, missed Monday's win over the shorthanded Warriors, only his 2nd missed game this season.
The 4th-year big from Michigan State struggled to stay on the floor in the last 2 seasons after tearing his meniscus during Memphis' run in the bubble in the summer of 2020, but has been a consistent cornerstone in a breakout 2021-22 season.
He has rebounded this season, averaging 16.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and an NBA-high 2.3 blocks in only 27.3 minutes per game this season, working alongside Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke to make a formidable defensive frontcourt.
Kyle Anderson stepped into the starting forward spot in Jackson's absence on Monday, with reserve Xavier Tillman Jr. finding 25 minutes off the bench. Expect the same rotation if he misses Wednesday's contest.
The Grizzlies, 53-23, clinched the No. 2 seed with the win over the Warriors and continue to contend even without superstar Ja Morant, bringing their record up to 18-2 without the 3rd-year guard.
