JD Martinez Leaves Game With Left Adductor Tightness

All-star JD Martinez left Boston's Wednesday night bout with the Blue Jays in the third inning after feeling left adductor tightness.

Martinez appeared to suffer the soft tissue injury while running the bases on a double in the top of the frame. Twenty-six-year-old infielder Christian Arroyo pinch ran for Martinez and has replaced him as the Red Sox DH against their division rivals.

Martinez will likely undergo an MRI in the coming days to determine the severity.

The 34-year-old was 2-2 on the night with one RBI, raising his average to .268 and tying him for the team-lead with eight RBI.
