Jerry Jacobs, the Lions No. 2 cornerback, suffered a gruesome left knee injury against the Broncos and will likely miss the rest of the season. By video, Jacobs was attempting to make a tackle when his left leg was hit by a fellow Lions defender. Jacobs was carted to the locker room and quickly ruled out. He likely suffered injuries to both his ACL and MCL.
Jacobs took the No. 2 cornerback job from Ifeatu Melifonwu, who missed Sunday's game after he was placed on the COVID reserve list Saturday. Jacobs finished the year with 34 combined tackles, 1 forced fumble and 7 passes defended. Detroit plays Arizona next Sunday.
