Jets left tackle Mekhi Becton left the game in the third quarter after suffering an apparent leg injury. By video, Becton was engaged in a block with his right leg planted when he was rolled up on by a defender on the outside and back of his right ankle/lower leg. With the lower leg trapped, the risk, if not a high ankle sprain, is an MCL sprain to the knee. He was carted off and will not return to the game. We do not anticipate a season-ending injury, despite his emotional reaction while getting carted off. The second-year left tackle is likely to miss several weeks with the potential for an IR stint.
UPDATE
Head Coach Robert Salah said after the game that Becton will be evaluated.
