Heat all-star wing Jimmy Butler suffered yet another injury Tuesday night, rolling his right ankle for the second time this season late in the team's 119-112 win over the Wizards.
The 32-year-old should return quickly, as it is a minor sprain. Butler has suffered 5 such low inversion right ankle sprains in the last 2 calendar years, and is thus in a similar category of Stephen Curry of low damage and quick recovery from ankle injuries.
When a player such as Butler suffers chronic ankle sprains, the injuries will look more gruesome than they are, and ligaments do not endure significant tearing.
The 5-time all-defensive team member was initially listed as out for Wednesday's contest with the Spurs. Helping his recovery, however, will be the news of that game being postponed by the NBA, the 10th postponement this season, all coming since Dec. 14.
Miami, at 22-13, next play on Friday night versus the Rockets.
