The Texans star tore his pectoral tendon on October 27th and the typical recovery is four to six months. Just shy of two months, the Texans have activated his practice window with an intent for him to return for the playoffs. Congratulations to the Texans medical team on a great quick recovery however one cannot speed up biology. I fully expect the Texans to utilize Watt for the playoffs as an 80% J.J. Watt is better than most of the defensive ends in the league. However there is no way that he will be 100% and it does carry some risk of re-injury and re-rupture which I am sure J.J. Watt is aware of. This decision to rush back  is being made to try and help his team advance in the playoffs. Best of luck to him as he makes his speedy return.
