Watt has come off injured reserve just over two months after a left pectoral tendon rupture and surgery. Kudos to the Texans medical staff for getting Watt ready for the postseason. Watt is proving to be almost superhuman, but he is still human. In 2017, he tried to return early from a discectomy surgery and re-aggravated his back injury requiring a second surgery which ended his season. Hopefully this quick return will end differently. There is no way that he will be 100% but an 80% Watt is still quite valuable. He may struggle keeping offensive lineman away from him and wrapping up/tackling with his left arm but could modify his game to be effective. Let's just hope he doesn't suffer a setback however that is the concern moving forward. The DC indicated he would play limited snaps and the HC today moved to indicate he would play significantly. Our thoughts are that he will play about a third of the snaps and mostly on passing downs and employing a primarily speed outside rush.
