Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow told reporters Wednesday he will miss the team's final game against the Browns this Sunday.
Burrow suffered a minor knee right injury late in the win over the Chiefs last week and said Wednesday his knee felt "sore, but not bad."
The injury was not to his surgically repaired left knee, which has held up well this season and shouldn't bother him in the playoffs either.
The young quarterback also insisted he could play if he needed to.
By video, Burrow appeared to suffer a minor knee sprain when his right foot was stepped on by a Kansas City defender. He left for the final offensive play, a kneel down before the game-winning field goal.
The Bengals clinched the AFC North with the win and can only get the No. 1 seed if the Chiefs lose to the Broncos Saturday and the Titans lose to the Texans Sunday.
We believe resting Burrow is the right call and he'll be fully ready for the playoffs.
The 25-year-old finishes the season with 4,611 yards, 34 touchdowns and 14 interceptions with a 70.4% completion rate.
