The Bengals have placed Joe Mixon on injured reserve, meaning he will miss at least three weeks. This potentially signals the end of his season given the timing and the fact that he is already missed 4 weeks on the active roster. Clearly, there was a surprise that was not anticipated by the Bengals, and one has to wonder if this is a Lisfranc injury situation like Cam Newton's last year, where he went many months before having surgery. Fantasy managers should prepare for the end of Joe Mixon season even though the injured reserve is only for a minimum of three weeks. It looks like Giovanni Bernard will take over in this backfield moving forward.
