Joe Mixon Leaves Fourth Quarter With Ankle Injury, Doesn't Return

Joe Mixon, the Bengals running back, left the Thursday night game after suffering an ankle injury on an 8-yard rush with just over five minutes left in the fourth quarter. Mixon did not return and his replacement, Samaje Perine, rushed three times for 7 yards and added one catch for 15 yards. After the game, head coach Zac Taylor told reporters he believed that Mixon suffered a minor ankle injury. The Bengals' next game is on Oct. 10 so the 25-year-old has 10 days to recover before a matchup with the Packers in Week 5. Before the injury, Mixon rushed 16 times for 67 yards and a touchdown.
