Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid will miss Monday night's matchup against the Heat with back soreness, the team announced.
The 28-year-old was questionable with back soreness last Wednesday, his birthday, but ended up playing against Cavaliers and finished with 35 points and 17 rebounds.
All signs point to this as a rest day for the five-time All-Star and not an issue to be overly concerned about.
Embiid played Sunday night against the Raptors, finishing with 21 points and 13 rebounds in 37 minutes.
His absence should open more minutes for DeAndre Jordan ($3,900) and Paul Millsap ($3,500).
It should also allow for a big game from Bam Adebayo ($8,700).
James Harden will also miss Monday's game, the second in the back-to-back, with load management for his left hamstring injury. The left hamstring has not appeared bothered him in any of his recent performances, thus it appears he's also getting a rest day.
Tyrese Maxey ($5,200) and Tobias Harris ($5,500) should get more shot opportunities with the top two 76ers stars out.
The Heat are 7-point favorites on the road against Philadelphia and the over/under is 212, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
