Georgia senior Jordan Davis has been one of, if not the, biggest star of the pre-draft process, impressing scouts and fans alike with his unprecedented athleticism for a prospect his size.
The 6’6,” 340-pound interior defensive lineman and 2021 Chuck Bednarik and Outland Award winner has risen up draft boards as a potential early first-round pick after staying mostly injury-free over his 4-year career despite his punishing position and playing style.
Davis missed 5 games across his 4 seasons at Georgia with minor ankle, elbow, back, and hip issues, and the only injury that will spark concern or a second look from prospective teams will be the lower back injury he suffered during the lead-up to the January 2019 Sugar Bowl his freshman season. Davis, who became a starter halfway through the 2018 season, sat out the Bowl game.
The injury doesn’t appear to be a serious one and did not linger throughout his career in Athens, which ended with a 14-1 season and CFP National Championship last January.
The 4.78 40-yard dash and 10 foot-3 inch broad jump, both the best marks ever recorded for someone his height and weight, are hopefully a harbinger of amazing things to come for Davis’ NFL career.
