Josey Jewell, the Denver Broncos' third-year linebacker, suffered a torn pectoral muscle in the team's Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. An MRI reportedly confirmed the injury, which Jewell appeared to suffer on a special teams tackle with less than eight minutes to go in the second quarter. The former Iowa linebacker will undergo surgery, but there is a chance he could return to play this season. Former Texans defensive end J.J. Watt tore his pectoral muscle in Week 8 in 2019, then returned to play 10 weeks later in Houston's Wild Card matchup with the Bills. Jewell should have a similar recovery timeline, but it remains to be seen what the Broncos record will be by the time he is able to return and the team will have to decide if it is worth playing him at less than 100% effectiveness.
