Nationals first baseman Josh Bell's left knee MRI came back "pretty clean,” Washington manager Dave Martinez told reporters Sunday.
Bell left Thursday's game before the start of the 4th inning after he reportedly felt his knee “tighten up.”
A video review of the game did not show anything significant for Bell's left knee. The good MRI results are obviously a positive sign and it should not be a recurring issue for Bell and the Nationals.
The 29-year-old started at first base on Thursday and Friday, then played 2 innings in yesterday's game.
Maikel Franco will start at first against the Giants today, with Lucius Fox at third.
Bell is hitting .346 this season with 2 home runs, 10 runs score and 12 RBIs.
