The Chiefs rookie safety suffered a late-season ACL tear in Week 17. Some optimistic news was reported saying that he should be ready for the 2020 season. This is the time of year for optimism as we expressed in the last Post. The same announcement admitted that there was an unsure timeline and it seems likely that he will start the preseason on the PUP list. Hopefully the timeline will not extend into the regular season. Given the short timeline for recovery and the fact that he is a defender that needs to react rather than an offensive player who can dictate play, I would not count on Thornhill being active or productive for the first part of the season.
