JuJu Smith-Schuster Back at Practice 3 Months After Shoulder Surgery

Juju Smith Schuster, the 25-year-old Steelers wide receiver, was back on the practice field Thursday for the first time since undergoing right shoulder surgery just over three months ago.

However, the ProFootballDocs believe it's unrealistic for him to play this weekend versus the Chiefs.

If the Steelers can advance further than in the playoffs, the possibility of Smith-Schuster returning becomes a potential reality.

He dislocated his shoulder Week 5 with a likely Hill-Sachs lesion that required a trip to the hospital to reduce.

Typical recovery from labral repair surgery is about four to six months to play.

But given his importance in the playoffs, it's not impossible to see an early return from Smith-Schuster wearing a harness.

Ben Roethlisberger has done well throwing to Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool in Smith-Schuster's absence.

Johnson finished the season with career highs in receptions (107), receiving yards (1,161) and touchdown catches (8).

Claypool ended the regular season with 59 catches, three less than his rookie year, and 860 yards, 13 less than his rookie year.
