Padres' Jurickson Profar Back From Scary Collision

The Padres activated versatile leftfielder Jurickson Profar from the 7-day concussion IL to bat leadoff against the Diamondbacks on Friday night only eight days after a scary collision left him unable to walk off the field.

Jurickson Profar Injury Update

Profar suffered a concussion and neck strain after diving face-first into shortstop C.J. Abrams' flying left knee last Thursday.

Profar twice lost his balance walking off the field and had to be carted off while giving a thumbs-up to the home crowd.

The Pro Baseball Docs ruled out any serious neck or jaw injuries at the time which tests later confirmed.

Profar should be able to return with no lingering limitations.

The 29-year-old has been an effective hitter in his third season in San Diego, batting .244 with eight home runs and 38 RBIs in 83 games while serving as the everyday leftfielder.
