Justin Fields Battled Through Knee Injury In Week 5, Could Linger For Week 6

Rookie Chicago quarterback Justin Fields injured his left knee in the win over the Raiders on Sunday and could have some lingering effects against the Packers in Week 6. By video, Fields hyperextended his left knee on a scramble for no yards with just under seven minutes left in the half. Fields limped to the sideline, then returned to the game after missing two plays. At the time, we believed Fields escaped a ligament tear. We still have significant worry for swelling and a bone bruise. Fields finished the game and was 12 for 20 passing with 111 yards and a touchdown. However, he had just three rushes for four yards. On Monday, Bears head coach Matt Nagy told reporters that Fields underwent tests on the hyperextended knee and he praised Fields toughness for finishing the game. We are not ready to put this knee issue to bed unless the rookie practices fully all week.
