Justin Fields Ruled Out With Ribs Injury

Bears quarterback Justin Fields injured his ribs on a rush attempt early in the third quarter and is questionable to return. The rookie went into the medical tent with the team orthopedist before leaving for the locker room. By video, we did not see a direct blow, thus the worry is for a rib cartilage/oblique muscle issue. Andy Dalton is in the game in relief. The 22-year-old rookie injured his ribs in the Sugar Bowl in January, but he stayed in the game after receiving a rib block injection and played in the subsequent Championship game. Fields will have a short turnaround to recover, as the Bears play the Lions on Thanksgiving. The 22-year-old has started every game since Week 3.

Update

Fields was ruled out with his ribs ailment. We are not optimistic about his chances to play on Thanksgiving.
