Justin Fields To Miss Season Finale After Placement on COVID Reserve List

Rookie Bears quarterback Justin Fields was placed on the COVID reserve list Thursday, knocking him out of the season finale against the Vikings.

Even with the more lenient return to play COVID protocols, Fields must sit out a minimum of five days.

The Bears will start veteran Andy Dalton at quarterback for the sixth time this season. He started last week's win over the Giants, completing 18 of 35 passes for 173 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Fields missed last week with a right ankle injury he suffered Week 15. He was poised to start this Sunday before testing positive for COVID-19.

The 22-year-old finishes the season with 1,870 passing yards, 7 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 12 games. He also ran for 420 yards and 2 touchdowns.
