Hollywood Brown - SIC Score 89
Last season, Brown played in 14 games for Arizona, recording 51 catches for 574 yards. He is expected to produce higher numbers with Patrick Mahomes as his quarterback. Although he ended last season with a heel injury that caused him to miss the final three games, he is expected to be fully healthy to begin the 2024 season.
Xavier Worthy - SIC Score 77
Worthy ran the fastest 40 time ever at the rookie combine. However, he was held out of mandatory minicamp due to hamstring issues, which is concerning according to our panel of Pro Football Docs. He had shown good speed and chemistry with Patrick Mahomes in recent practices before his injury. Missing crucial time to learn while sidelined will hurt him, and he will not be at full capacity at the start of training camp. Worthy will need to be eased in as speed and soft tissue issues do not mix well. While he may not make an immediate impact, he has the potential to produce as the season progresses.
Joe Thuney - SIC Score 84
Thuney missed no games last season and played 100% of the snaps from Week 1 to Week 16. He sustained a pectoral injury on January 26th in the playoffs, causing him to miss the AFC Championship and Super Bowl games. He is now on the active/PUP list with that pectoral injury but is expected to be active for Week 1 of the upcoming season.
Derrick Nnadi - SIC Score 84
Nnadi is currently on the PUP list due to a triceps injury sustained towards the end of the previous season. As a rotational defensive tackle for the Chiefs with one sack last year, he is crucial in helping stop the run when healthy. He is expected to miss parts of camp but should be suited up for Week 1.
Charles Omenihu - SIC Score 66
Omenihu is recovering from a torn ACL and has been placed on the PUP list to start training camp. He was suspended for the first six games of 2023, but in the 11 games he did play, he was very solid for the Chiefs' defense with seven sacks. The ACL tear occurred in the AFC Championship game, and he is currently in the middle of recovery. He will not be ready for the start of the 2024 season, and a down year is expected for Omenihu.
Bryan Cook - SIC Score 93
Despite a gruesome-looking ankle injury sustained in Week 13, the injury was deemed less severe than initially thought, resulting in a grade 2 high ankle sprain. The injury did not result in a fracture as originally suspected, but it did end his season, including the playoffs. Cook is expected to be healthy when training camp starts and is projected to be the team’s starting free safety.
