Kansas City Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos: Which Team Has Health Edge?

Injury Advantage: Chiefs Pass Defense

Kansas City is healthy at the right time of year, while the Broncos are starting backup quarterback Drew Lock and have three wide receivers coming off illness.

Jerry Jeudy and Tim Patrick missed last week on the COVID reserve list, while Courtland Sutton played through a non-COVID illness and had three catches for 60 yards.

Starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is done for the season after suffering his second concussion this year.

The Broncos are 19th in passing yards this season and have not surpassed 300 passing yards since Week 6.

Lock threw for 236 yards last Sunday against the Chargers, but suffered an AC joint sprain in his non-throwing shoulder.

Running backs Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams combined for 24 carries against the Chargers last week. Expect them to exceed that total this week.

Secondary Advantage: Chiefs Pass Offense

Denver will be down its two top corners against the Chiefs’ potent passing attack.

Rookie standout Pat Surtain II was ruled out with a calf injury and Ronald Darby will miss the game with a shoulder injury.

Kansas City, meanwhile, has all of its pass catchers healthy and will get left tackle Orlando Brown back this week.

The two-time Pro Bowler injured his calf in pregame warmups last Sunday, thus he may play limited snaps this week against the Broncos.

The Chiefs need a Titans loss to the Texans in order to have a chance for the No. 1 seed.

Expect them to get up early with the passing attack, then run the ball the remainder of the game and rest their stars.
