Injury Advantage: Chiefs Run Offense
Second-year running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire is expected to return this week from the shoulder injury that caused him to miss the final two games of the season.
The 22-year-old also missed five games earlier this season with a left knee MCL sprain.
Those injuries should be well behind him and we expect Edwards-Helaire to be effective in his return.
Backup running back Darrel Williams is dealing with a mild toe injury, but should also play.
With defensive tackle Tyson AluAlu and defensive end Stephon Tuitt out for a majority of the season with injuries, Pittsburgh gave up the most rushing yards this season.
Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill will still likely do damage for the Chiefs.
Expect Kansas City to dominate on the ground if they get up early.
Secondary Advantage: Chiefs Run Defense
The Chiefs are one of three playoff team's with 11 healthy starters on defense.
Meanwhile, Steelers rookie running back Najee Harris is dealing with an elbow injury he suffered Week 18 and Pittsburgh could be down both starters on the left side of the offensive line.
Harris returned to the ballgame last week and finished the game, but he'll be playing with a brace this week.
The brace could effect his catch radius out of the backfield and his ability to pass block.
Rookie left tackle Dan Moore Jr. missed last week with an ankle injury, but practiced in full on Wednesday.
The Steelers ranked 29th in rushing yards gained this season, while the Chiefs gave up the 21st most rushing yards.
With the injury disadvantage on the ground, Ben Roethlisberger should come out slinging in potentially his final NFL game.
