Kenny Golladay Escapes Serious Knee Injury, Could Still Miss Time

Top New York Giants wide receiver Kenny Golladay left the team's Week 5 game with a right knee injury and will undergo an MRI Monday. After the game, Golladay told reporters he hyperextended his knee in the first quarter and continued to play, but developed soreness before being shut down at halftime. By video, the former Lions wide receiver suffered the injury when he collided with star Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs on an incomplete pass in the first quarter. We do not expect a ligament tear or major damage. However, there is worry for a potential bone bruise that could still cost him some time. The MRI results will be key to determining the length of his absence.

New York cannot afford to lose any more offensive players. Quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley were both injured in Week 5. Barkley will miss multiple weeks and Jones might not clear the concussion protocol in time for the team's Week 6 matchup against the Rams. Hopefully wide receivers Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton can return from their hamstring strains for Week 6.
