Bucks all-star wing Khris Middleton left the 117-103 loss to the Celtics late in the 3rd quarter after hyperextending his left knee.
Head coach Mike Budenholzer said after the game that there are "positive indications" that the injury isn't serious, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.
Our team of ProBasketballDocs do not believe there is risk of an ACL tear, but see evidence of a possible bone bruise between the knee joint that needs an MRI to detect, meaning we would hear news of it tomorrow. Depending on the level of swelling, he could sit until Jan. 2022, but the injury is not serious enough to warrant a lengthy absence.
The 30-year-old forward landed awkwardly on a rebound attempt and his left knee bent backwards. He limped down the floor and stayed in for the next offensive possession before taking an intentional foul and walking directly into the locker room.
Milwaukee, 18-11, will face the Pacers on Wednesday before a back-to-back in New Orleans and at home versus the Cavaliers on Friday and Saturday. They will play versus the Celtics on Christmas Day.
Middleton scored 4 points and hauled in 6 rebounds in 24 minutes before the injury. Coming into the game, he is averaging 18.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5 assists on 41.4% shooting in 20 games. He missed 8 games in October and November after testing positive for COVID-19.
