Kings star center Domantas Sabonis left Sunday night's overtime loss to the Suns in the fourth quarter with a left knee injury, but should not miss much time.
The 26-year-old banged knees while defending Phoenix small forward Mikal Bridges with just over five minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Sabonis walked to the locker room and was reportedly scheduled to undergo an MRI Monday.
The ProBasketballDocs do not expect the MRI to reveal any structural damage, based on video of the injury.
Sabonis' knee hyperextended after hitting Bridges' knee - putting stress on the LCL - but it's unlikely he suffered anything more than a bruise.
Given the Kings record, they may wait until the contusion/swelling subside for him to return to the court.
Trey Lyles and Chimezie Metu will likely see extra minutes with Sabonis out.
Sabonis has averaged 18.9 points, 12.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 15 games with the Kings this season.
