Kyle Allen was hit low by New York Giants' safety Jabrill Peppers and suffered a left leg injury. By video review, Allen suffered a significant knee/ankle injury. The referee immediately waved to the Washington sideline and called for help. Allen suffered a multiple ligament injury after being leg-whipped by Peppers. The knee rotated while his ankle was trapped which caused the injury. He appears to have ankle fracture dislocation injury and knee MCL issue. Allen's season is done with surgery and Washington will have to look elsewhere. Alex Smith is the QB for the rest of today but no way he can be the full time starter due to residual from his injury.
