The 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk exited the game with a left knee injury. He walked off with help from trainers and was later carted to the locker room. By video, the defender took on a low block legally as the fullbacks legs were taken out. The hope is that because his foot was not firmly planted and slipped out quickly, the 49er may have avoided serious knee injury. The foot slipping out is in many ways like a ski binding releasing. If the foot stays planted, there would be significant ligament damage including a potential ACL/MCL tear. In the postgame press conference, head coach Kyle Shanahan said that his fullback suffered a knee sprain. Let's hope things work out and that he avoids significant ligament damage. A MCL sprain was confirmed and he should be out four to six weeks.
