Heat point guard Kyle Lowry has been ruled out with a left leg injury and won't return for the fourth quarter against the Hawks.
The 36-year-old appeared to suffer the injury with just over two minutes left in the third quarter when Hawks' forward De'Andre Hunter bumped into his leg attempting to split two Heat defenders and cut into the lane.
Hunter knocked off Lowry's shoe, which sat on the floor until a timeout with 1:59 left. Hunter hit an open three in the corner because Lowry couldn't follow him, ending what was a 21-0 Miami run that put the No. 1 seed up 84-68.
Lowry limped off the floor and Jimmy Butler came in for him. In Lowry's absences late in the season, Gabe Vincent started in his place, while Max Strus saw a bump in scoring and playmaking opportunities.
The Heat are attempting to go up 3-0 in the series with Game 4 set for Sunday in Atlanta.
