Kyle Pitts Returns to Practice, Hamstring Will Limit Effectiveness If He Plays

Kyle Pitts, the Falcons rookie tight end, returned to practice Thursday in limited fashion.

He also told reporters he believes he will play.

He needs 50 yards in the final game to break Mike Ditka‘s rookie tight end receiving record.

Our medical opinion has not changed. He injured his right hamstring in Buffalo.

Indeed he wanted to continue to play and temporarily tried before the team removed him. Remember return to play is based on medical clearance, a player wanting to play and the team signing off.

Certainly Pitts wants to play, but will he get medical clearance and will the team allow it?

If not for this record there doesn't seem to be any way that Pitts would play in a game without playoff implications for Atlanta.

However, with a final home game and nothing for Falcons fans to cheer for but this record, Pitts may have an outside chance to play.

If he suits up, it will be tough for him to be effective and he carries a high risk of reinjuring the hamstring.
