La’el Collins Return Yet To Be Determined

The Cowboys have invested heavily into their offensive line, but no one could have predicted the rash of injuries that has left the unit severely hampered. RT La'el Collins has been a staple on this line, but went down with a hip injury this summer and has been out of the picture since. Jerry Jones, ever the optimist about his players and their abilities offered a foreboding quote about Collins' 2020 status. "We dont know, I dont know, the doctors dont know" is an uncharacteristically blunt and vague assertion, and this means we could likely see an extended absence, even though he is now technically eligible to return off IR. Because this was a preseason injury, we have heard almost no details, but any damage to the hip will be seriously limiting for an OT. His ability to kick-slide, set and drive will all be affected until this injury is healed. With Tyron Smith sitting out the last two weeks, Collins gone and swing tackle Cam Erving out at least another month with a knee issue, they are down to their 4th and 5th options at tackle.
