Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson missed practice Wednesday with an ankle injury and will likely be a gametime decision for the Ravens' matchup Sunday against the Packers.
Dr. David Chao, ProFootballDoc, projects that Jackson could play through his right ankle injury, but his agility would be drastically limited. That would likely lead the Ravens to use him primarily as a pocket passer.
It will be up to head coach John Harbaugh to decide whether the Ravens want to go that route or start backup quarterback Tyler Huntley instead.
Huntley completed 27 of 38 passes for 270 yards and a touchdown while filling in for the injured Jackson against the Browns last Sunday. He also had six rushes for 45 yards.
Jackson injured his right ankle early in the first quarter last Sunday and did not return to the game. Chao said, by video, Jackson did not suffer a high ankle sprain.
The 2018 MVP was seen in a low walking boot after the game, further indication that Jackson is dealing with a low-grade ankle sprain.
The Ravens play the Bengals Week 16 and Chao said Jackson will have much better mobility by then.
The 24-year-old is averaging 63.9 rushing yards per game this season on 5.8 yards per attempt. He's averaged 240.2 yard through the air with 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
The Ravens (8-5) sit one game clear of the Browns (7-6) in the AFC North. Cleveland plays the Raiders (6-7) this Saturday, but will be without Baker Mayfield, Kareem Hunt, Jarvis Landry and Austin Hooper.
