Lamar Jackson To Miss Second Game With Bone Bruise In Right Ankle

Ravens' star quarterback Lamar Jackson is expected to miss his 2nd consecutive game while healing from a right ankle injury he suffered early in week 14.

It was revealed earlier this week that the 2019 MVP is dealing with a bone bruise in his ankle, not just an ankle sprain, which is a much different healing process. Bone bruises cannot be played through, and thus the recovery is based wholly on rest.

The fourth-year quarterback did not participate in practice at all this week, as was the case heading into Week 15, and is listed as questionable. Once he does return, mobility will still be a concern, meaning he will likely play more as a pocket passer, limiting the Ravens' dynamic offense.

To make matters worse for 8-6 Baltimore, Tyler Huntley, who started last week, missed practice with a non-COVID illness and is questionable for the matchup with the 8-6 Bengals in what will help decide who wins the AFC North.

Journeyman backup Josh Johnson, who filled in for the Jets with 317 yards and 3 touchdowns in week 9, was the only quarterback at practice Friday and would be slated to start for the Ravens if Huntley is not available.
