Laremy Tunsil To Have Thumb Surgery, IR Stint Looming

Laremy Tunsil, the Texans pro bowl left tackle, will reportedly undergo surgery on the left thumb he injured last Sunday against the Patriots. Tunsil left the game just before halftime and didn't return. We reviewed video and didn't see exactly when he suffered the injury. Lineman can usually return from hand injuries and Tunsil reportedly hoped to play through it and postpone the surgery until the offseason. The 27-year-old will likely hit IR and Geron Christian Sr. will fill in for him until he returns. We think Tunsil has a good chance to return and play with a cast before 4 weeks. Houston's right tackle Marcus Cannon was moved to IR Saturday and will miss the team's next three games. The 1-4 Texans play the 1-4 Colts in Week 6.
