Las Vegas Raiders
QB Derek Carr -
Carr left Week 15 early due to a groin issue, but was otherwise healthy. He has had his share of injuries over the years, but none are an issue going forward. Carr starts this year healthy after posting his third straight year of at least 4,000 passing yards.
QB Marcus Mariota -
The former first round pick started the 2020 season on IR with a strained pectoral muscle he suffered in the offseason. Mariota returned after missing six games and played well, filling in for Derek Carr in Week 15. Mariota is healthy and will provide great depth for the Raiders.
WR John Brown -
The new Raider dealt with bothersome ankle and knee issues that caused him to miss a total of six games. The ankle was the big issue as it prompted a stint on the IR list. Brown also missed one game late in the year as he was placed on the Reserve/COVID list. Brown returned for the final game of the season and playoffs for the Bills. He starts his stint with the Raiders healthy, but age could be an issue since he’s now 31 years old. Brown did catch 33 passes for 458 yards and three touchdowns last year.
OL Richie Incognito -
The 38-year-old suffered a season ending Achilles injury in Week 2 last season. Incognito underwent surgery and should be fully healthy coming into this year. The Raiders will need him healthy since he’s now the leader of a young Raiders offensive line.
LB Nick Kwiatkoski -
The former Bears LB suffered a pectoral injury that was not torn, costing him just two games. Kwiatkoski returned in Week 4 and played well, but missed the last two games of the season after he was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. He starts this season healthy and will look to match the 81 combined tackles he posted last year.
DE Clelin Ferrell -
The former Clemson Tiger suffered a shoulder injury that cost him the final three games of the season and was subsequently placed on IR. Ferrell also missed two games due to being on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. He has disappointed given his high draft position, but healthwise he’s positioned for success. In his second year, Ferrell recorded 27 combined tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles.
DE Maxx Crosby -
The stud defensive end did not miss a game, but in the offseason he underwent surgery for a torn labrum in his left arm and a broken plate in his right hand. Crosby played with both injuries last season with the labrum getting "worse and worse" as the season wore on. Despite the injuries, Crosby appeared on the Raiders injury report a grand total of zero times last season. Now fully healthy, Crosby should have a rebound year. The East Michigan product had seven sacks and 39 combined tackles last year.
CB Damon Arnette -
The former Ohio State Buckeye cornerback dealt with numerous injuries in his first year, including a broken thumb in training camp that bothered him to start the season. The Raiders placed him on IR after three weeks and he missed five games. He was also on the Reserve/COVID-19 list during his IR stint. Late in the year, Arnette missed two games due to a concussion. The concussion problems were frequent as he left Week 11 and 12 with concussions. The rookie battled through all those ailments to post 25 combined tackles in nine games. The thumb should be good to go, but let's hope he can avoid further concussion issues.
S Johnathan Abram -
The former first round safety dealt with a multitude of injuries in his second season, including shoulder, knee and concussion issues that cost him a total of two games. In 2019, he tore his rotator cuff in his second career game, causing him to miss the rest of the season. Abram starts this season off healthy and, if he can stay that way, should have a big year. The Mississippi State product had 86 combined tackles and two interceptions last year.
