Lavonte David Injures Knee During Second Quarter, Potential To Return After Half

Lavonte David, the Buccaneers outside linebacker, left the game against Miami with a right knee injury, but appears to have escaped significant injury. By video, David jumped up to block a pass and had his left leg rolled up on by teammate Ndamukong Suh late in the second quarter. Although his left leg was rolled up on, the worry is for his right knee. We believe he escaped a mild MCL sprain and has a good chance to return to the game. He is officially listed as questionable with a knee injury.

Update

David has been ruled out with an ankle injury. He was originally announced with a knee injury and likely has a high ankle sprain/MCL sprain combination injury. After the game, head coach Bruce Arians said he believes David has a high ankle sprain.
