The Cowboys star linebacker left Sunday night's game after he suffered a neck injury. There was potential concern when he came out of college after rumors surfaced regarding significant neck issues which caused some teams to lower or remove him from their draft board. He has not had any issues in the NFL to date but does wear the neck collar that protrudes off the back of his shoulder pads. The injury was not a hyperextension but more of a lateral force and jamming injury. By video, even someone without previous neck issues would affected. My hope and thought is that his current neck issue has nothing to do with any past cervical spine issues. There is no guarantee that he plays next week but it is possible. He could play as I do not see this as a long term issue. In any case, Sean Lee is a nice replacement if Vander Esch suffers any missed time.
