Lions' D'Andre Swift Likely Dealing With SC Joint Sprain in Right Shoulder

Lions 22-year-old running back D'Andre Swift left the Thanksgiving game with a shoulder injury and is likely dealing with an SC joint sprain in his right shoulder. By further review of video, Swift's injury appears to be a right sternoclavicular joint sprain. Swift was landed on by Bears linebacker Roquan Smith, then rolled over onto his right shoulder. We do not think he has a clavicle fracture, shoulder dislocation or AC joint sprain. Swift left in the second quarter and was ruled out shortly after halftime. With 10 days before the next game, it remains to be seen how much time he will miss, but do not anticipate this to be a long-term absence or require surgery. Jamaal Williams will take over the starting running back duties in the meantime.
